Titanium rec bars come in various grades, each with distinct properties to cater to diverse applications. Here are some common grades of titanium rec bars and their properties:

Grade 1: Also known as commercially pure titanium, Grade 1 consists of 99.5% pure titanium. Due to its high purity, it has excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability. This grade is ideal for applications that require high corrosion resistance, such as chemical processing, marine, and aerospace industries.

Grade 2: Slightly stronger than Grade 1, Grade 2 maintains excellent corrosion resistance and is slightly better in terms of mechanical strength. This grade is perfect for applications where higher strength is required but weldability and ductility are still important, such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and piping systems.

Grade 3: Grade 3 is stronger than Grade 2 and has comparable corrosion resistance. However, it is less formable and weldable. It is suitable for applications requiring moderate strength and good corrosion resistance, such as structural components and automotive parts.

Grade 4: Grade 4 is the strongest of the commercially pure titanium grades. It maintains high corrosion resistance, but its formability and weldability are not as good as Grades 1 and 2. This grade is ideal for applications where high strength and corrosion resistance are crucial, such as aerospace and marine industries.

Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V): Also known as Ti-6-4 or Ti6Al4V, this is the most commonly used titanium alloy. It is considerably stronger than the commercially pure grades, and it also has excellent corrosion resistance. This grade is suitable for applications that require high strength-to-weight ratios, such as aerospace, automotive, and medical implants.

Grade 7 (Ti-0.15Pd): This grade offers the same mechanical properties as Grade 2 but with added palladium, which increases corrosion resistance in reducing and oxidizing environments. It is ideal for chemical processing plants, power generation, and marine applications.

Grade 9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V): Also known as Ti-3-2.5, this alloy has a mixture of aluminum and vanadium. This grade is lightweight, strong, and corrosion-resistant. It has the advantage of being more formable and weldable than Grade 5. Its typical applications include sports equipment, aircraft tubing, and hydraulic systems.

Grade 12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni): Grade 12 offers excellent corrosion resistance and increased strength due to the addition of nickel and molybdenum. This grade is ideal for chemical processing industries, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
